Registration is now open for NMOHVA's 7th Annual Rubber Chicken Ride!(Updated: 07/21/2018)
Wow! It is that time of year again! Come join all of your coolest moto-riding friends for NMOHVA's 7th Annual Rubber Chicken Ride dual sport motorcycle event in beautiful Truth of Consequences, New Mexico on October 19-21. REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN at NMOHVA's Event Web Page.
The 2018 edition of this fun-filled autumn tradition is, once again, a fund-raising event. All proceeds over and above NMOHVA's costs will go directly to NMOHVA's Access Defense Fund. This is an AMA-sanctioned event.
All three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) will feature a fantastic variety of great dual sport riding opportunities through the mountains and deserts of south central New Mexico. We know of no other place that has the infinite variety of the Truth or Consequences area. Do you want some green mountain riding? West of the Rio Grande you will find traditional favorites including the beauty of Chloride Canyon, the 10,000 feet views from Mt. Withington, and the challenges of the Rocky Top loop. Want spectacular desert scenery? East of the river you can enjoy historic Palomas Gap, the desert beauty of the Tipton Ranch and Broadhurst Arroyo or visit the mining history of the Lyda K or Blackjack Mine loops. How about a little more (okay...a lot more!) challenge? You can try your skills and endurance on the RCR's "Desert Sufferfest". No one has finished it yet!
What's new? How about lower registration fees? We are making the event shirts optional this year to make the event even more affordable. And yes, we already have identified several "new" routes on both sides of the river for 2018 that could well become your new favorites.
All of this dual sport motorcycle riding is strictly "no fee" and at the event participant's discretion. Maps and/or GPS tracks of suggested routes will be provided. As always, we anticipate plenty of people who would be willing to let others follow them as they enjoy the beautiful and varied scenery around Truth or Consequences.
All pavement riding requires a legal, plated bike per New Mexico statutes. All dirt road and trail riding requires a plated bike, a valid NM OHV sticker, or a sticker from a reciprocal state. A USFS-approved spark arrestor is required for all riding on Forest Service managed lands.
Registration for this event includes a great dinner Saturday night, event decals, and a chance at raffle prizes. A custom event performance T-shirt is also available for purchase when you complete your registration form.
We will be adhering strictly to a 100-rider limit for this year's event. Riders will not be on the official "in" list until the payment process has been completed. There will be no "waiting list" so register early to ensure you get one of the limited slots. We anticipate this year's event to be a complete sell-out.
