A MILESTONE Event: The 50th Annual Mile High Enduro

Last Updated: October 28, 2009

An Invitation Presented by the Prairie Dawgs M/C, Champion Motorsports, and Hoy-Fox Toyota

How did we get here? What roll chart did we use? Who marked our course? Did those guys 50 years ago suspect that someone would carry on this tradition for this long? We don’t know because only one or two of us have been with the club for enough years to remember. Some of us took breaks and went off to ride other trails. For what ever reason, some of us decided to come back. We came back because the Dawgs had shrunk to just a few members. Those Dawgs who remained get the credit for holding what was left together during those thin years. Some came back because they wanted to pass on what they knew about riding to someone else. Here is the common ground that many of us found to bring us back together: We may be getting old, but we know some things about motorcycle riding.

In order to pass on the knowledge and help save a great and historic club from extinction, we decided to try and interest some riders younger than ourselves to join up and head down this long trail. We have been successful to a degree in that endeavor. Some of us also decided that we needed to keep this organization together for our 50th Mile High Enduro! So, here we are; two months are left to do all the things that will make or break this event. It’s all about attitude you see.

It’s a big birthday party, and you’re all invited! Come celebrate with us. Bump into old friends. Bring your old bikes and ride in the Nostalgia Class, or gas up your new four stroke cross country rocket and enjoy the ride in comfort. The Sacramento Mountains are still a great place to visit, camp, and ride in. What could be better than a great old fashioned Enduro, a hot cup of coffee or a cold beer, and good friends around a warm campfire at the end of the day. We hope to see you there, on October 3rd and 4th! We promise to keep a section of trail set aside just for you. Keep your rubber side down.
