On Saturday, May 3rd, NMOHVA members representing the Sierra Riders (ATV), New Mexico 4 Wheelers (4WD), and Blackfeather Trail Preservation Alliance (MC) met Phyllis Martinez of the Jemez Ranger District to do much needed maintenance/repair on Los Griegos Road (FS Road 4A).

After Phyllis instructed the group on the appropriate techniques, the crew grabbed shovels, mattocks, and mcleods and went to work. Several hours of hand labor later, the badly rutted road was restored and ready again for use by the public enjoying their public lands.

NMOHVA and its members are looking forward to more joint maintenance projects with the Santa Fe National Forest in the future as both groups meet the challenge of providing sustainable access in the face of shrinking budgets.
